A basic t-shirt might look like the simplest piece of clothing imaginable but it is definitely one irreplaceable item that should not miss from any wardrobe no matter the season. Its versatility makes it one of my favourite hero buys at the moment but what I really love about the style is that it can be worn everywhere from the workroom to the bedroom.

The one I am wearing here is from The Cotton Story, a sustainable brand I came across recently while shopping for basic t-shirts. I was so happy with the quality of their products that I decided to buy another similar top soon afterwards and share the whole experience with you. Firstly, all of their products are made with organic supima cotton which is extremely soft to touch and super comfortable. There are different designs available in various colours to choose from, but I personally went for this beautifully cut v-neckline number. Plus, its lightwear fabric is great for hot weather as it doesn’t cling to body.

And even though the style is quite plain, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it when it comes to styling. I will definitely wear mine all summer long with printed skirts and come autumn with a pair of blue jeans and black leather jacket. For that extra wow factor, I love to style a basic t-shirt with layering gold necklaces and sometimes when it is extremely warm with a lovely sunhat and a pair of sunglasses.

Here’s an edit of some of my favourite basic t-shirts to invest in, including the one I am wearing here:
